Hi all,
This is my first blog - how exciting eh? Well I looked at my targets the other day and thought how could I do all the targets I have set myself? Well I know who could help me - a golf pro. So I went down to one of my local golf clubs near my work and popped into the pro shop and started talking to the Pro. He was an elderly well spoken man with what looked like a lot of experience under his belt. I explained that I wanted to reduce my handicap down from 28 to 14. He looked me up and down and said for starters you need to keep off the pies (I think that was a response to my northern accent). After some talking he said OK then lets see your swing and we walker outside and started to hit a few balls. He stood in silence and when I finished hitting around 20 balls he said "you hit the ball like a bear with a sore arse. Oh really I said thinking it was some common used golfing term he went on to say "it ain't impossible but you are going to need to do a lot of work". He then said he had to get back to the shop, gave me his card and said if I wanted lessons give him a bell. This was not the most exciting and informative meeting as I already knew it was going to be hard! I mean I did not even tell him about my mild TV addiction.
This motivated me to get on the case. First I decided I was not ready for lessons just yet and thought I should focus on my fitness or lack of. Researching on the net I found a few complicated golf related exercises but I just thought I need to lose weight and get strong so I chose 4 basic exercises. These are:
15x Press ups
15x Sit ups
15x Body turns (with girlfriends medicine ball)
15x Shoulder turns (with medicine ball again)
This to me does not seem to hard and I will try to complete the exercise list everyday.I will also try to run 3 times a week just to lose the pounds. On top off this I am also on what I call an enforced diet. This means that because my girlfriend is on a diet I am too but I am going to try to use this to my advantage. I will also let you lot know my weight throughout. My starting weight today was 15st 2 pounds
Anyway I will update you lot soon on my progression and any suggestions will be much appreciated.
